Baker City Council to Discuss Various Matters in Upcoming Meeting

Baker residents are invited to participate in the upcoming City Council meeting, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 7:00 P.M. The meeting will be held at the Fallon County Courtroom, with teleconference options available for those unable to attend in person. Teleconference participants should dial 406-323-9800 and enter participant code 1718877# when prompted.

The public will have an opportunity to provide comments. If individuals are unable to attend the meeting, they can email their comments to dukartk@bakermontana.us before 5:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.

The agenda includes several items under old business, beginning with Resolution # 744. That resolution pertains to the intention of excluding a 100 x 200-foot tract of land from the City of Baker, as requested by Patricia A. Rost. The specific location of the land is the NW ¼ SW ¼ of Section 12, Twp 7N, Rge 59E of P.M.M. in Fallon County, Montana.

Under new business, the council will discuss the activation date policy for seasonal meters at Baker School and Fallon County. The proposed activation period would span from April 1 to October 31. The council will also review gravel quotes and fabric materials quotes for SID # 36, and consider approving payment application # 5 for the watermain to wells/tank improvements project. Additionally, an update on the funding for SID # 36 will be provided.

The council will invite planning input, followed by inputs from the Fire Department, County Sanitarian, Public Works Department, Police Department, Clerk/Treasurer, City Attorney, and City Council. These inputs will cover various topics relevant to each department’s respective responsibilities.

The meeting will conclude with the presentation of the April 2023 financial report, inputs from the Mayor, and input from the City Council.
