Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is inviting the public to an open house for the South of Plevna project. The project aims to conduct rehabilitation work on Secondary Highway 494 (S 494) south of Plevna. The open house will provide a general overview of the project, discuss community needs, and allow for questions to be answered.
The project will commence in Plevna at the intersection of Montana Highway 12 (MT 12) with S 494. MDT plans to apply a scrub seal and cover, similar to a chip seal, on approximately one mile of S 494. Following this, the next six miles of S 494 will be milled back to gravel to meet Fallon County standards. Additional gravel will be added where necessary, and four culverts will be replaced. It is important to note that this project has not yet been funded for construction.
The open house will take place on November 9th from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Plevna Community Center, located at 105 Callin Avenue West in Plevna. More information about the project can be found on the project website. Any comments, questions, or concerns can be directed to southplevna@dowl.com or by calling Cathlyn Hammond at 800-337-3430.
