Founded in 1936, the Carter County Museum has the distinction of being Montana’s first county museum and the state’s first dinosaur museum.  The museum’s original mission was the collection and study of dinosaur fossils found on local ranches.  In addition, the museum features a Veterans Hall, American Indian Collection and highlights the home of the original bucking horse line, Tooke Bucking horses.   Here’s a peak inside the Carter County Museum.
