Metal Detectors Required at Class B Divisional Tournament in Billings after Stabbing Incident yesterday!

A man was severely injured after being stabbed during an altercation at the Southern B Basketball Tournament at MetraPark on Friday night, according to Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Deputy Lt. Harrison Gillen at the scene. A search was under way for the suspect and Gillen said there was no risk to the public as the assault was not random; the men apparently knew each other. Anyone who may have witnessed the altercation is asked to call the sheriff’s office. Deputies taped off the area at the front of the First Interstate Arena and were searching the grounds for a weapon.

According to an update from the Billings Gazette, the stabbing victim was a juvenile and the search for the suspect is ongoing.  The stabbing victim went to the hospital with serious injuries. As of Saturday morning the boy’s condition has not been made public.
