
BISMARCK, N.D. – AARP announced seven organizations throughout North Dakota will receive 2024 Community Challenge grants totaling $69,000. Grantees will implement quick-action projects that help communities become more livable by improving public places; transportation; housing; digital connections; and more, with an emphasis on the needs of adults ages 50 and older.
The Bowman Theater received $4,000 from AARP to purchase equipment. According to Kady Walker with the Bowman Theater, ” We are getting hearing assistance devices that will sync to our movies. We will also be getting some additional sound equipment (speakers, microphones, etc.) to make the theater more accessible to the hearing impaired for events”.
