Welcome to episode two of the Big Skies and Bad Lands Outdoor Show! On this week's episode, Blake and Eric are joined by Richard Menger from the Fallon County Health Department's Office of the Sanitarian. Mr. Menger holds a wealth of knowledge about Baker Lake, and has used it as a teaching tool for Biology classes along with being closely involved in many other lake projects.
This episode focuses on how the lake was turned around through a huge project which was prompted by a 2016 tornado. The project consisted of removing debris and deepening the lake. It added water volume and structure conducive to the current awesome populations of perch and crappie.
Thank you to Mr. Menger for his time, and for teaching us some about Baker Lake! We hope to have him on again in the future.
