The O’Fallon Historical Museum invites the community once again to their free “Night at the Museum” event on Sunday, October 26, an evening of fun, food and living history for all ages. The event begins at 4:00 p.m. with kids’ games and crafts and a free-will offering chili and cornbread supper sponsored by the O’Fallon Historical Society. Then at 6:00pm, the live performances begin, with local actors portraying historical figures from Fallon County’s history. All activities are free and begin in the Museum’s metal office building.

“Night at the Museum lets folks hear the voices behind our archives — real people, real stories, and the moments that helped shape Fallon County,” said Vaughn Zenko, Curator. “Bring the kids, grandma, grandpa — the whole family. Grab some food, and enjoy the show. We’re really excited about both our actors and the people they’ll be bringing to life this year. We’ve got stories maybe that you’ve never heard before and stories maybe you have heard, but in a whole new way. And, who knows? Maybe a few real ghosts might pop up, too.”

This year’s performances feature: Melissa Rost as Clara Mercer – a dramatic composite character rooted in multiple Fallon County women’s homesteading accounts, giving voice to the pivotal contributions women made in shaping Baker, Fallon County and the entire state of Montana.

Ava Goerndt as Ellen Brant – A retelling of the infamous “Fritz” story, from the perspective of the very real 13-year old girl who, along with her family, were waiting at the next station down the line for the stagecoach driver who never came.

Karst Rose as Walter Vandervort – A real true-crime mystery, told from the perspective of the first-ever convicted murderer in Fallon County… or was he?
