Medora held it’s annual hot air balloon rally and kite festival this past weekend. Both events, of course, depend on mother nature co-operating. Unfortunately she did not on Saturday or Sunday morning so the balloons were not able to lift off. Traveling back from Dickinson on Saturday my friends and I swung into Medora to see if the kites were flying. They were not in the air when we stopped due to lack of wind. Imagine that in North Dakota, not enough wind to fly a kite. Sunday rolled around and I decided to head back to Medora for another shot at the kites flying. It was pretty windy in Golva so I figured they might have enough wind in Medora to get the kites in the air. I picked up a friend in Beach and off we went. She had never seen the kite festival. Wind was blowing and the kites were flying. My friend loved it….as usual the camera was with me. I will make no apologies for the number of photos I took. Enjoy!
